4. Caché: World Leading Dolls House Supplier achieves success using InterSystems Caché

One of the secrets behind the success of The Dolls House Emporium is the efficiency of its IT infrastructure. The nature of its business makes the use of a streamlined and automated system highly desirable.
Everything from digital photography to catalogue production and from purchasing to sales and fulfillment is carried out on the company premises. All these processes are handled by the Arx system from software developers, Safewire, which is based on InterSystems' post-relational database CACHÉ. Arx is well suited to this environment, running the majority of the company's operations with little need for manual intervention.

7. Ensemble: Abstraction and Data Persistence in Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) White Paper

Two key technologies that are essential for successful service-oriented architecture (SOA) implementations, but are missing from most SOA development platforms are abstraction and data persistence.  Ensemble gives you both a comprehensive application and data abstraction facility, and an integrated object and metadata repository.  Our new white paper, The Overlooked Role of Abstraction and Data Persistence in Service Oriented Architectures, explains how Ensemble is a more cost-effective and less risky way to move to an SOA.  Ensemble makes it easier for you to focus on improving your business processes, develop and deploy IT assets as services, incorporate legacy application functionality, and much more!

9. Ensemble: Webcast Highlights Rapid Integration for Real Time Executive Dashboards at George Washington University

George Washington University (GWU) chose Ensemble for its rapid development capabilities and its ability to put critical appointment statistics and financial data directly in the hands of the physicians -- removing the need for the IT department to run time-consuming monthly reports. Bill Lewkowski, CIO, Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan has been honored as one of Computerworld’s 2006 Premier 100 IT Leaders.  Lewkowski’s selection as a Premier 100 IT Leader was based on his leadership  of an enterprise-scale integration project built on Ensemble.   The initiative, which involved completely replacing Metro Health’s previous integration platform, requires integrating a total of 25 systems with about 65 different interfaces. It is the first phase of a visionary business plan that calls for building a new, all-digital hospital that will be the center of a health village of the future by 2007.

11. Ensemble in Healthcare: InterSystems at HIMSS 2006

InterSystems is proud to sponsor the HIMSS Conference and Exhibition in San Diego, California, from February 12th – 16th.  HIMSS provides an opportunity to learn the latest industry intelligence, find solutions to pressing professional challenges, and network with colleagues in the healthcare industry.  In addition to our booth, you’ll have several opportunities to view presentations of innovative solutions built using InterSystems’ technology:

  • “Processing HL7v3 Messages in Ensemble”
Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) chose the Ensemble universal integration platform to create a national EHR in the Netherlands, partly because of Ensemble’s built-in support of HL7. This presentation showcases Ensemble HL7 capabilities, including a discussion of using Ensemble to process HL7 version 3 messages.
  • “Case Study: Successfully Implementing a National EHR”
InterSystems and CSC present one of the very first nation-wide healthcare IT projects: The Netherlands National Switching Point EHR. Presenters discuss the challenges they face in creating a national EHR, and ways to avoid the pitfalls as we move towards similar EHR initiatives in the U.S.
  • “XDS Registries and Repositories: Achieving High Performance Through Design”
XDS and HL7 CDA are the foundation for a cross-enterprise EHR. This session shows how InterSystems' post-relational database and integration technology is ideally suited for high-performance, massively scaleable EHR systems.
